AASC 2011

Participation at All Africa Student Convention (AASC) Bloemfontein
All Africa Student Convention is where all High School Students from ACE
(Accelerated Christian Education) from the whole of Africa and Scandinavia meet
to compete in 8 different categories:
Academics
Art
Photography
Needle and Thread
Athletics and sport
Music
Dance
Drama and platform
1700 students from all over Africa and Scandinavia have met this year at the university of the Free State, where they entered their different events in the categories
They were then selected to participate at the International Student Convention in the USA if they get a nomination, if the qualifying standard was met
Alexandria Christian Academy sent 5 students to compete, and they came back with 4 medals (2 gold,  2 silver), and 2 USA nominations
Adriaan Slabbert, and Kenneth Johnson won a silver medal for their Science
Exhibit      They designed and built a go-cart
Adriaan Slabbert won two gold medals; one for his essay entry and for Bible
Memory, for which he memorized the whole of Romans, Galatians, Ephesians and
Phillipians
Adriaan Slabbert also won 2 USA nominations, and is invited to compete at
the International Student Convention in Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA in May
2012
